The mission of Fort Hunt Little League is to provide a quality youth baseball program for the Fort Hunt community.

Spring Baseball Update - May 18

Dear Fort Hunt Little League Families

Thank you for your patience over the last month.  We hope this email finds all of you safe and healthy. Based on available information and guidance from the CDC, state, county and Little League International, we made the decision to divide our approach to handling the spring season.  This decision is based on the league's ability to provide and maintain a safe playing environment for our players.

We will proceed as follows:

For T-ball, Single A and Double A Divisions:  We made the decision to cancel the spring season. We are incredibly disappointed that these young players will not be out on the baseball field this spring and summer.  The board continues to review guidance from public health agencies in order to get our younger players back out on the fields in a safe and controlled manner this fall.

For Tripe A, Minors, Majors, Intermediate and Juniors Divisions:  The league is postponing the current season until July 4th, at which time we will determine whether we are to play baseball or not this summer.  We remain hopeful that we will play baseball subject to safety conditions being in place and area fields are opened by the county.  The league is establishing guidelines by which the older players can be on the field in a safe and controlled manner.  We will share these guidelines shortly for parents to review and consider.

Spring Season Options:

Option 1: Like many families, businesses and other nonprofit organizations, FHLL will continue to be in a tenuous financial position for some time.  With that in mind, we appreciate any families who are willing and able to consider donating their full registration fee to the league.  These donations will enable us to continue player development programs available to all players across our league.

If you wish to donate your spring season registration fee, please email   with the subject line: DONATE.  In the body of the email, please provide your player's name.

Option 2: Based on a comprehensive review of expenditures made in preparation for the spring season and required expenses for ongoing operations of the league, we are able to offer a refund amounting to 65% of each famiy's registration fee (including those that paid the volunteer opt out fee).

If you wish to have your registration fee refunded, please email   with the subject line: REFUND.  In the body of the email, please provide your player's name and confirm your mailing address.  Each refund is required to be executed individually, so please be patient as this may take up to 30 days for the league to complete the process.

Moving Forward

The board is working to determine the next steps for the league and how we safely provide the most baseball for the most kids as quickly as quidance from health officials and local authories permit. We will do everything we can to keep you updated on new developments.  Our hope is that we are able to put all players back on the field this coming fall season and celebrate the game of baseball.

If you have can questions, please contact me at  . Please stay safe and healthy.  Remember, we are all family in FHLL and we wish you all the best.

Dugout Swap

Dugout Swap

Fort Hunt Little League encourages a supportive and generous setting on and off the field. We want to continue this tradition. We are asking all community members and baseball parents to participate in the newest FHLL program:

Share your "gently" used baseball clothing and equipment. The league will organize the donations and have them out during Opening Day Ceremonies on March 28th.  Families can browse and take what they need. If we have anything remaining after Opening Day, FHLL will store the rest for families in need during the season.

  • Batting Gloves
  • Belts
  • Catcher's gear
  • Cleats
  • Gloves
  • Helmets
  • Pants
  • USA Bats
  • Socks (only new)

Any donations can be brought to practices and given to your coaches or you can schedule a time for a pickup.  We will have designated times for field drop offs as well (times/days coming soon). Please contact Gillian Livesay and Tricia Kordon at   with any questions or to schedule a pick up/drop off.

Message from the FHLL President

Welcome to Fort Hunt Little League

We’re pleased to host one of Northern Virginia’s highest quality baseball programs for children ages 4 through 18. We continue a long tradition of community baseball in the historic Fort Hunt area of Fairfax County dating to our founding in 1956.

Fort Hunt Little League Baseball is dedicated to preparing youngsters to meet the challenges of life by developing physical and mental disciplines essential to success through competitive sports and the great game of baseball.

We play baseball three seasons starting with spring baseball capped off with end-of-season Fun Tournaments for players who want to play post-season tournament-style play against other District 9 teams followed by Little League All-Star play in summer plus clinics for youngsters aged 5 through 8 in mid to late summer.

Fall Ball typically starts a week ahead of Labor Day and continues into early November.

Spring - Registration for the Spring Season opens the first week in January and typically closes the third weekend in February except for T-Ball which remains open until the second weekend in March and the Seniors Division which doesn't close until the 10th or so of May.

Registration for Fall Ball typically opens after July 4th and closes the third week in August.

Fort Hunt Little League Baseball is successful because of the thousands of volunteers who served in League positions both large and small over the years. You can volunteer when you register your player or by contacting me or any FHLL Board member.

Contact me for additional information.

Best - Josh

Volunteer Spotlight

All local Little Leagues are driven and sustained by volunteers, and the volunteer category that we (and other locals LLs) struggle to fill more than any other?  Not surprisingly it is the role of Umpire.  Please consider volunteering for this most critical role - see the FHLL Umpire links on the FHLL page for information.
